Love, love, love! What is this?
Many at times, people get into relationships and end up getting broken. Relationship is like a door, love like the key, if you don't know what the key is, you might end up breaking into that door and getting kicked out.
Now love is not like tea and bread, there is more to it than its meaning and name.
Love is not just a "magical sensation" you feel when you meet Mr or Miss Perfect. That MAGICAL SENSATION does not pop up in a twinkle of an eye, as a tree groweth from a seed so does love groweth from strangers to friends, to close friends, to a relationship and then finally marriage which is the end product.
LOVE IS UNCONDITIONAL
Scenario: a father loves his teenage son; but when he finds out his beloved son raped his 3 year old sister, that love was diminished. Is that conditional or not conditional?
This all boils down to why most relationships do not last long. The guy has expectations from the girl and vise versa which makes the relationship crash down to ashes. People have different personalities that blend together to make a perfect relationship.
Love is about accepting people the way they are not regarding their flaws. The more you expect things, the more you get disappointed, just like in the scenario given above. Unconditional love never fades even though that relationship does not exist anymore.
LOVE is TRUSTWORTHYScenario 2: LIES
Lies can grow from telling your partner you like a food when you don't actually do, to telling him/her that you are busy with your studies or other positive things, when you are actually entertaining your lover. This is a sign of a relationship based in need.
It takes years to trust, seconds to break trust and forever to regain trust.
Solution: Be HONEST
Love is truthful. Lying comes from fear. If you want a loving relationship, 'Truth' should not be an option, its best when its a habit. Always.
LOVE IS TOLERANT
The need to modify them comes from your own expectations of how you think they should behave in order for you to feel supported and loved. This comes from not taking responsibility for your own security.
Solution: Let go.
When you see yourself manipulating or being overbearing, stop. Bring yourself into the moment and think to yourself, Oh, I can let that go. Go inward and focus on loving yourself. Then the need to control your partner will fall away.
LOVE DOES NOT ARGUE
When you realize that your conversations turn into arguments, try as much as possible to listen and pass your opinions across politely and understandingly. You will find out that the things that you least want to hear will help you the most.
Always express how you feel towards your partner, otherwise it will result to resentment. Most people think expressing their feelings will cause people to take advantage of them.
Solution: Be vulnerable.
A truly loving relationship will bear the test of the truth. Be honest about what you are feeling, and you will soon see the true nature of your relationship. Tell your partner how you feel — on a regular basis, whenever feelings come up. Don’t try to change them; express your feelings with the goal of being totally transparent, of showing yourself exactly as you are. Recognize the fear at the root of your tendency not to speak up, and allow yourself to feel it. By doing so, you will begin to release the emotional charge that causes resentment, and to replace it with love.
